Re: First week with Sky Fibre

Had my fibre installed since the 19th March and am getting rock solid speeds and ping.

Pings to our server for Battlefield 3 are 7 - 8ms always and download speed is very good.

Anytime+ works as it should - instantly.

Got my fingers crossed for all of you waiting.

Gorebrush I come on some days just to see if you have had the call lol

Well speed has dropped further today. Router is now syncing at 27400 / 800. Anyone know how long the automated line testing process lasts for? Max download speed now according to speedtest is about 18Mbps / 0.7Mbps. Pretty much getting the same speed now as I was on my old Sky ADSL line.

Have you called sky and told them that you sync rate has been dropping off?

Spoken to Sky who ran a line test. Looks like it could be my Openreach modem that's faulty. They'll be sending a BT to check it out.

BT guy has been. Looks like my line has dropped back into stability mode due to high error rate. They are going to re-initialise the line. Here's hoping for a better result second time around.

Hope you get it sorted soon, at least you know they are on the case!

Re: First week with Sky Fibre

Well can't complain about speed of service. BT engineer booked last night via Sky about 6.30pm. Arrived this afternoon to do the test. Line reset by 6.00pm. Now getting a full speed service again. 39997 down and 2000 up modem sync. Testing the connection, seem to be getting about those numbers in reality as well, plus the ping test is way better this time. Happy now , hope it lasts this time....

I do quite like that even though you have had a problem, you have had it sorted out very quickly.
