I also still don't understand how FTTC can offer such high speeds. As I have always understood it, all networks are only as fast as their slowest 'connection'. In the case of FTTC this is the copper wire from the house to the cabinet which can only offer ADSL2 speeds. So where does the speeed increase come from ?
also the loss over fibre is alot less than copper.

singlemode fibre @1310nm (wavelength)- about 0.5dB/km
singlemode fibre @1550nm (wavelength)- about 0.4dB/km

This is terrible. Haven't any of you read Peter Pan? You will have killed of many of Tinkerbell's relatives, perhaps even Tinkerbell herself. I wonder if an Infraction each would be suitable?

Yes they do. Some members have been asked to pay for it, but personally I would be prepared to call their bluff and say that since I don't want to pay for another Sky router I will use my own non-Sky router and request that they provide me with instructions on setting it up.

Hang on a minute, I just pointed out that fairies were not available in his area and he needed to register his interest to be kept informed of availability!

Anyway I just got back from bell-ringing so a few angels got their wings this afternoon...

One thing you should always do if you are getting conflicting speed reports...its windows....windows update..... or a LAN/Ethernet Driver update needed...or a bug in LAN/Ethernet drivers...update, update, update...
