So, today I decided to ring customer services again and get fibre.

So far I've talked to a nice chap who more or less said "I'll see if I can put you through to the right team", I then mention that I can get BT Infinity and the chap seemed to know that Sky are doing Fibre and that "it would be better than anything BT offer" - too right.

      On hold now..

EDIT: Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhh guy came back and told me I had to wait..

Awaiting your outcome with great interest, as I saw that post on DS last night too - reserving my judgement until someone on here has actually managed to call & order it before launch.

Bad news I'm afraid - I doubt anyone can simply ring up and order it until after launch.

I can see the 12th being a day of massive frustration for me - I bet I won't get through, or won't be able to order.

On the strength of this thread I phoned sky although I was not very hopefull after a quick check the computer said yes. Very helpfull Sky employee seemed like it was his first fibre order but all went very smooth and now ordered.

Deepest sympathies! I am also anticipating some frustration on the 12th (or will that be the 13th? 14th? ...20th?) I'm going to ask for my usage stats for the past 3 or 4 months, just in case Plan B is needed!

The lady i spoke to said she had just been trained so would try and place the order It wasn't completely straight forward as i had to ring Plus net to get them to remove the cease (i think?) on the line and as it was a weekend they said they couldn't (which btw isn't true if you are determined enough ).

Since i placed the order with Sky it has been cancelled and re-ordered (issue between BT and Sky apparently) moving my install date by a week or so but i can't fault the customer service team, they have kept me up to date and rang me back everytime they have said they would.

Disclaimer: i'm not suggesting you should place an order with another provider, just pointing out that the customer service agent said they had just been trained in retentions.
So I tried again just now. This time got through to the fibre team. He was great an did a check but there was conflicting information about the availability. He found out my area is fibre enabled and for my order to go through, the exchange needs to be seen by a sky engineer which if it had released for other providers he could sort out. He's giving me a ring in Monday to see how his investigations get on. Looks like I'm getting somewhere.

      I went through to "upgrades"

I could try once more and do the "thinking of leaving us" and saying that I want BT, but I just feel that's going a bit far... Plus given that I've just rung up - will there be a note on the account or anything that would mean I am blatantly spamming them?

I've rang a 4 or 5 times in total, was starting to feel a bit stalkerish
