      YAY!

Kevin the sky man phoned me today around 12:15 - 12:20PM...

He was able to order it for me, there on the spot... no 50 fee, no fee for modem/router either...

      FYI

for some reasons unknown Ipads restrict connection up to 20mb speed, even though you have 40mb connection, all other gadgets like laptops, BD-Live Bluray players, Xbox360s will run at around 30/32mbs speed, all these are run wirelessly...(thank god i don't own an Ipad)

      and also...

whats the reason for planning permission to have your phone line going off to a cabinet instead of the exchange for??

      Anyway...

I will recieve the modem or router...next week... and there is a BTO engineer due to come out on the 27th to do my connection...

      YAY!

Well, I do own an iPad, and this is wrong. What you are referring to is the iPad's well-documented inability to download wirelessly any files that are bigger than 20 MB. Nothing to do with connection speed.

After my disappointment in being told I couldn't get Sky Fibre I spoke to a good friend of mine that works for Sky.

He told me that while most exchanges are ready for SBUF there are a few that still need some work for various reasons.
This includes mine where they are waiting on BTO to do some work first but said all Sky LLU exchanges *should* be ready by the end of May. He doesn't work for the rollout team but some other technical department so he's had to get some info from someone else so there may be some inaccuracies.

      More waiting then!

You don't. BTO need planning permission to site a cabinet in a Conservation Area. Although you may not live in a CA, the cabinet serving you may.
