      Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet! Good luck mate!

@jdsimp - my server runs several servers because it's a VMWare server - it in fact runs 4 servers at the moment all performing different functions. They are not public services (I think it is against the T&C's to run public services from Sky BB connections but I could be wrong)

But yeah, love it, doesn't eat much power, switch it on and off it goes really.

      Re: Sky fibre broadband

There are various stories which have come through the rumour mill regarding offers and the launch. Since nothing was absolute, they haven't been posted as we have tried to keep to the known facts.

Sky's marketing is totally free to change things, so even if say 4 weeks ago we had heard that a 50% off offer would be available, who is to say it could be something else tomorrow.

Tomorrow Sky should make a formal announcement and, as some of you have now gathered, SBUF should be able to be ordered on-line.

From my understanding it will not be possible to order SBUF over the phone, but since many of Sky's staff has now had the training and they have access to the SBUF systems, I think that would be silly.

For those of you who live in an area where SBUF can be installed - All the best for tomorrow!

For anyone else, do not worry too much. Perhaps we could start a new thread (or two) to help identify those areas which have Sky's LLU equipment, are FTTC enabled but can or cannot have SBUF.

hmmm the poltergeist theme doesnt sound very scarey, its almost like a babies lullaby song XD

but ye, setup a new post to find out which exchange do have Sky LLU, and which exchanges don't. Those exchanges that do have Sky LLU maybe/might/should/could be able to get sky fibre bb...those which don't will find it hard, or a delay in getting sky fibre bb...

We know Bridgend & Aberkenfig are FTTC enabled...strange, I wonder, for bridgend samknows says that it is available in some areas, I would say its roughly about 40-50% of the Bridgend exchange do have the New green cabinets/FTTC....as I have seen plenty in & around Bridgend area.... Theres even ones over in Brackla, as my parents live over there, they say one new cabinet is now right down the bottom of their street. I have seen new green cabinets as far as Aberkenfig, but as soon as you head towards Maesteg or Coitrehin, thats where you don't any of the new green cabinets any where...I see Tiny little long-gated green cabinets out houses on the way to Maesteg...I wonder what they are for? they are placed by the side of the main road.

There is another exchange further up towards the garw valley...forgot name of the place...

I have also been told from people who live n Maesteg, they don't think FTTC will come to Maesteg for a few years yet...But Maesteg does have its own exchange...strange...

      @killa_uk - Its actually £12.50....

      Re: Sky fibre broadband

i asked the women if it was the case and she said yes i would have been 12.50 but i already have sky unlimited so it will be like this:
      20.00 for sky fibre
12.50 for line rental and phone
so if am already paying 22.50 its only 10 more happy days at the moment am getting this slow speed

Yes, FTTC won't be available absolutely everywhere due to the cabinets. SWAAZ (Aberkenfig) Exchange went live with FTTC in December 2011, however as our new cabinet went live in March, then that would be why "available in some areas"

I can't speak for Brackla - that'll be on the Bridgend exchange, as would be Broadlands. I guess the Aberkenfig exchange will be serving Sarn, Brynmenyn, Bryncethin and Tondu, but anywhere more southerly than Sarn will be served by Bridgend.

Looking at Sam Knows - Maesteg definitely no FTTC, but there is 21CN WBC - which means up to 24Mb ADSL2+ for most people.
