Well Kevin from sky phoned. Top man too but the answer was my cabinet which was activated at the beginning of March has not been released yet for sky to use, so I will have to wait. He said he will keep checking and ring me back when he has some news. I'm a bit disappointed but at least I no where I stand and can put fibre on the back burner until its ready for me in my area.

Oh lord no, really? Mine was live on March 14th so I'm guessing that's newer than yours and won't be released for Sky either. Nobody has rung me yet but I have a very bad feeling I'll have the same answer as you.

I had a feeling this would happen really. He would definitely have signed me up if it was all in place. There's no time scale of when there released also but said he would keep checking for me.

      oh gorebrush,

How did you find out when the big green cabinet went live on 14th?

I'd really like to find out which FC i will be using in my street...as I have seen...where I am that there is one BIG green cabinet on the end of Cemetery Rd, and 1 other New Green cabinet opposite side of that road, on Coity Rd...the third 1 I have seen is about 1/2 min into town...opposite the Red Car repair place...wish i knew which 1 is the cabinet for my street...and whether its live or not...

Oh well...no phone from Sky(or the scottishsky guy) today
      9:20pm here...im done checking for now until tommorow...keep waiting...grrrr

Not Skys fault. However is this anti competitive behaviour by BT? Investigation time.

      Wasn't you there with him?

Apparently the 3rd Annual Fibre cabinet spotters AGM gave out contact information for people to find out when their cabinets would go live. Apparently they needed to get Sky's information added too. It is all very secretive though with special hand shales and everything, so I heard.

Seriously though guys, it is a matter of days before Sky launches SBUF. Don't worry so much. It is happening.

      Re: Sky fibre broadband

      ye, but its frustrating tho...

being told that you will get called by sky fibre team staff on a monday/tuesday for an order for sky fibre, and finding out different excuses as to why you can't get it...and then never getting a call on the 1st day they mention(like today for example)...maybe easter monday(bank holiday comes into it maybe? idk)...maybe tuesday a better day for them to call us...godamnit! i hate bank holidays, everyone acts as if its a sunday and don't work! its not a sunday it just a day when all banks are shut...

      Re: Sky fibre broadband

I realise that it has been frustrating for many people.

Remember that Sky first announced their interest in trialing Fibre over 2 years ago. This forum has been buzzing with stories about it since. It is now around 60 hours to when you'll be able to order it, provided that your exchange and local Fibre cabinet are ready.

We'll find out about exchange problems on the day and for the coming weeks, where FTTC is available but Sky's equipment needs to be updated. It will be updated in due course. Fibre broadband is here to stay and will be the future.
