OK This time I'm through to a Scottish gentleman. He says they will be launching in 5 days time, but still went ahead and asked if "everything was enabled"... he's gone off to check a few things....

That's not the order number if you ring the dedicated SUFB Department/team there is a different order number. Team must be getting bigger now as I was getting one on one help with team member two weeks ago

      OK so, maybe a result...

He understands that there is a bit of a rush on come Thursday but will ring me back monday/tuesday night........................

Confirmed that I will be looking at a 40Mb connection.....

He says they are "starting off" with 40Mb packages, and you will only be able to order online from the 12th.... Can only ring up and order it from end of the month........

Yes but surely only those who already have SBUF know the number for the dedicated SBUF dept?
Catch 22! Or maybe Catch 23 in Sky's case

Almost word for word what he told me. He was a Scottish guy too. There maybe one Scottish guy on the whole team who's able to help people with getting fibre. Poor fellow won't stop for a few days with the amount of people trying to get through to him lol.

      Re: Sky fibre broadband

Those that do have SBUF have the number. personally I have only given it out twice and that was to people that had already been contacted by the SBUF team as they wouldnt accept orders from incoming calls.

Good luck to gorebrush and others though.

I wonder what deals/promotions they will have on launch

      Re: Sky fibre broadband

      OK

tried first time today...got through to scottish female...i explained to the person i rang last night talking about sky fibre broadband...and that i was told to ring the next day as the bb dept is now closed(time was 9:01pm) damnit! anyway, I was put through to bb dept...OMG...it was an indian male replying... said same thing, sky fibre bb available in my area, etc...up straight refusal...said that it is not possible, as he can't do anything....(prooves to me that indian staff are removed anyway, no offence to indian people at all)

OK...waited for 10 mins....tryed again...got through to an english male...who put me through to bb dept again....THIS TIME an english male answered...repeated what I had told 1st person...I believe I was now being put through to the sky fibre team....as this english person said he as putting me through to another team...NOW an scottish male answered....as soon as I mentioned sky fibre broadband he knew what was on about...and said it would only be available in 5 days.... i said is it possible to to pre-order it before the date...he went on the registration page... aksed i f iw as online now.. which i was.... he sent me to this webaddress http://www.sky.com/fibrebroadband

....which sent me to the registration which i noticed i had already done this 5 times... mentioned i had already done this... asked how long ago... i said a few days ago... he then sprang to life... think he got a little excited...he then asked me do I know anything about my exchange..told him about a website called "samknows.com" I think knew about it...asked me what it said about my exchange..I told him it said that it is FTTC enabled...even though it said available in some areas on my exchange...then he went into checking my line...asked for my personal details, which i mentioned...he then said...he then noticed that I am a current Sky BB Unlimited User...and that my line is actually capable of a 40mb connection...and then he went on onto to say that.. been as I had registered a number of times a few days ago he would get back to me, either Monday/Tuesday night...

so hopefully somthing will be done...

      Wait for the call...

      Re: Sky fibre broadband

That's pretty much my experience. No doubt you spoke to the same bloke as me.

Not the Indian bit though, I meant the last part...
