      Re: Fibre optic dilemma

For people wanting a 40/10 or 80/20 connection -although we know sky are working on these we have no dates when they will lauch. Sky could surprise us and offer them from launch or we could wait months to see such speed offerings from what we hear only a small few have got the 80/20 trial. If you are happy to live with 40/2 which is what know they are going to offer then its fine but dont swap based on the fact sky could offer 40/10 or 80/20 on the 12th if thats what you want as we just don't know!

so I cancelled my BT Infinity today.
Question: roughly how long will it take for installation of SFUB? Is it only after Apr 12?

Turn around time from placing the order to actual install is around 10 days.

However, unless you register interest and Sky Fibre ask you to participate in the trial, you will have to wait until Sky launch the product to the general public.

Registering interest doesn't guarantee getting 'the call'. But it wouldn't hurt re-register.

If you're unlucky and Sky don't contact you, you're going to have to sit it out until the launch.

The only other avenue you could explore, is to call cancellations and say you're off to BT as they'll give you Fibre, depending on who you speak to, you might get an offer for the trial.

Some forum members have had success this way.

      Re: Fibre optic dilemma

I really hope you guys get sorted soon. Despite the cost I am so glad I kept my fibre with Virgin. For all their faults my service is flawless.. However as/when/if Sky come along I will of course swap my LLU line to fibre.
