The downloading would be no problem. It is the uploading which could cause the difficulty. If this is not restricted it could use up all the available bandwidth and thus slow down or even stop the downloads. This is why most are hoping that Sky increase the upload, as 2 Mb is not nearly enough to be uploading and downloading at the full speed fibre will allow.

Note - When downloading always select the Custom install or you will end up with stuff you don't want.

Thanks, so its not so much the router thats going to be an issue for some more the upload speed. I suppose its the only thing BT offer that Sky don't at the moment. If even send an email with a photo its almost stops everything. To be honest for years people have had slow connections its easy to see why we are getting so excited lol

There are some trials in progress with the use on 40/10 and 80/20 with Sky. We shall have to wait for now to know what the outcomes will be.

Did ADSL improve things over Dial-up?

Re: New Router at Sky Broadband Fibre Unlimited launch?

40/10 would be nice I hope they offer it, even if it's at more expense, I'd take it.

I'm not an advocate of the fibre router sky are supplying, I've had nothing but trouble with it. Still am as I type this, I have no internal access to my NAS through the router but external is fine.

If I leave it a few hours and come back, I'll have access again (maybe)
There's no configuration error, I just works when it pleases. It's stopping me running back ups which my main concern.

Could I suggest that you start a new thread to discuss this? There may be other members who can help to identify where the issue is and either get things working or help you to go back to Sky with the necessary information to get this raised.
