I did try to input the MAC address on the weekend into the Netgear but if you connect using a login and password the option to use a different MAC disappears. I will try using inputting the IP manually when I get a chance. Interestingly when I tried to use the auto configuration it detected a static IP and asked me to input it.

That might be a good clue. Note down the IP the Sky router is using and put it in when asked. You might not have to do anything else.

Just an update on this. I tried inputting the ip settings into the router and the connection light did turn green however I had no internet access. I also tried using the sky MAC but that didn't work. Even if this did work I guess this is not the solution as it isn't a static up anyway.

I'm going to give up on this. Too much time wasted already. The router works well enough in bridge mode.

Have you raised a support ticket with Netgear over this?

Within Netgear there is the knowledge required to update their routers to support Sky's implementation of MER, but from reading the various threads on this topic, a firmware update is required.

I believe that the more people that can raise this with Netgear would be better. They may then realise just how many potential customers are affected and that it would be useful to fix this.
