It's funny but someone told me the other day that on my sky line (which is not 8.9mbps thanks to a manager) I couldn't do high usage every month. But it will suck through 15GB bwtween 12-8am.. so it's still possible to do alot!

What utter rubbish. If you had the storage capacity, you could probably download in excess of 1TB per month, every month, without any fear of being penalised for it. Last November I set my self a challenge and managed to download nearly 2TB and uploaded around 200GB, and it wasn't hammered at 100% capacity. Other members have hit their connects a great deal more than that too.

Sky are true to their word: There are no usage limits, other than the limit placed upon your connection by it's speed.

That is true if you are on Sky Broadband Lite, where you are limited to 2Gb per month, but not on Unlimited.

Well on both Sky and Virgin I have yet to have any complaints. Cable has just hit 4TB but I am told that's nothing for a fibre line.

      Sky about 25GB so far

Has anyone tried out the fibre optic checker on the TalkTalk website? It seems to be estimating for download speeds based on an 80/20 product:

      https://sales.talktalk.co.uk/product...e-optic/check/

Mine comes back with an estimate of 57.3Mbps Down & 15.7 Up.

They're welcome to call - but they'll get a resounding "NO" for an answer!

BTW says 40/10 for me. I wonder how TT is doing its estimates?

Not so long ago (but before the recent surge in interest in all things fibre), Zen estimated me as something like 29.3 Down and 5.0 Up. My how quickly things are changing!
