      Hey Moxey

You are indeed correct - there are two BT cabs by a bus stop. Google street view is old though, there is a 3rd brand new cabinet just to the right of those two. I did try and have a quick scan for a cabinet number, but it was dark when I looked.

Interestingly it wasn't humming as other posts have suggested. Maybe it isn't on yet...

I have tried postcodes and numbers in various checkers and all seem to say that I have to wait until March - so couldn't place an order with BT now (not that I'd want to!!!) Just tried Plus net and they flat out say I cannot order it - guess their checker isn't clever enough to say "hang on, you can have fibre if you wait a bit"

Well, I'm in Wembley, which has been enabled. And while my speed at the moment isn't too shabby at all, it is VERY tempting, signed up on the trial page, lets hope they call sooner rather than later!

      Re: Sky Fibre hopeful

Found myself gazing lovingly at the Plusnet Fibre Broadband page today.

Strongly resisting the urge to order Extra Fibre Broadband + calls - it works out a pound or so more than Sky* (not that it's about the cost of course) but has a 120GB monthly allowance (although this is more than enough for our usage according to my stats for the last 12 months which Sky kindly supplied to me) and midnight to 8am downloading does not counting towards the allowance.

But I'll continue to wait impatiently for that elusive call

      Re: Sky Fibre hopeful

@speedyrite - I am with Plusnet (BB and just recently Phone too) and have been for years but went for Fibre last year (FTTC) as a triallist so got the benefit of Fibre without having to pay an extra 10 for it luckily and whilst it's great - the 60GB allowance I had before on ADSL2+ was eaten up rather too fast! Sky Unlimited is attractive but I am curious as to the contention and actual data throughput in practice.

They are due a product refresh soon and the feeling (and it's just that) is they will probably (have to) increase the usage allowances - that is what I am hoping for as are others according to a poll there. The thing with PN is they do advertise of traffic shaping which varies according to product and the 120GB Fibre product does restrict most activities to 10MB or less most of the day so that is something to bear in mind currently until a new set of products is released (usually around April).

I am keeping my options open still though I am paying about half what Sky are charging so will wait and see...

      Re: Sky Fibre hopeful

@geezerone: useful to know about Plusnet. Apart from Sky, it's the only other ISP that has looked attractive to me especially for fibre. The big attraction of Plusnet is that I could have it "today" (in fact, I could have had it for ages as my area has been fibre enabled for almost a year now I think) but - like others on here - I have been hanging on for Sky to bring out their product. So I'm going to resist the temptation to jump for a bit longer! Resisting, resisting, resisting...
