I spotted an older cabinet with no newer one which is closer to my house :| Though there is a big #12 on it. Mine is served by #8.

Thanks for clearing that up. Wasnt sure whats what.
Ok so that post code has all of its lines fed from PCP number 38 but trying to locate that cab has proved difficult, its a busy area with lots of traffic and google street view messes up in places and jumps skipping sections of road plus there are lots of dif looking boxes about a couple of which im not sure if belong to bt or not.
There is a PCP right the way down Burnt Oak Broadway on the corner of watling ave outside Ladbrokes that when zoom in looks like it could have a 38 or something similar on it but non of the post codes 38 covers are down past Oakleigh Ave so prob not that 1 after all 51.600503,-0.267231 - Google Maps
Further up Burnt Oak between Columbia Ave and Bacon Ln are 2 bt cabs next to each other, 1 has a 41 on it but the other isnt numbered and there were a few others in dif directions with no numbers on too so 38 could be anywhere, sorry i couldnt be more help on this

Ahh that will be your bt cab then
there will need to be a new fiber cab next/near to that PCP 38 for you to get fiber broadband.

Could be a 2 shift system with 1 person on each shift

      But seriously:
Are they likely to call during the daytime or during the evening or either?
Do they call on weekdays only or could it be at the weekend too?

Just curious to find out the experience of those on this forum who have had "the call"!

      Re: Sky Fibre hopeful

My phone call was after 6pm.

There is a fibre cabinet next to the cabinet on columbia ave but it is not on streetview. 100m to my front door. And just under 1km to my exchange.

The 2 missed calls I had were around 4-5pm.

The call i received was at around 10am. Both calls were during the week, I doubt the Fibre Team work at weekends as they're not customer facing, per se.

I wish I could get excited about FTTC, but it will not come my way for a while and when it does it will not make a lot of difference. My cabinets are so far away you have to take coffee and sandwiches with you if you want to walk to them.
