      Are you sure you have to leave that box unticked? It seems pretty silly that they'd include an option to opt-out of communications about the exact thing you're interested in. Plus, it says "other" products and services...

      Are you sure you have to leave that box unticked?
      They are not referring to the Fibre option, only other things they want to sell you and if you don't want to be contacted you must tick the box.

      There are many companies using this 'tick the box to opt out' option which many believe is wrong and that you should only have to take an action when you want to opt in. The problem is they often change the goal posts on the same page and require you to tick a box to opt into something else.

      It does say..

      Sky would like to use your information to contact you about other products and services that we think you'd like.

      The thing that confuses me is the whole "Are you a Sky customer" Yes/No, estimated contract length (What? Broadband or TV?) and then the dropdown box for current provider doesn't mention Sky?

      Am I being spectacularly dense?

      Nah, Sky just isn't in there.

      I cleverly just registered my wife in there as our Sky is under her name.

      Hopefully they will ring back soon. Hopefully she'll be there. I have fully briefed her on Fibre and why she should say yes
