      Re: Sky Fibre connection

Just been connected and ..................it failed to work!!!!
When the BTO engineer arrived he first drew the 'plumbers' sharp intake of breath on seeing the Sky router and exclaimed "Ah, not seen one of them before, didn't realise we were connecting Sky customers"!
Turned out I am the first Sky customer at my exchange!
Then, after an hour and a half and we still could not get a broadband connection he left the house to do another job suggesting I contact Sky and he will 'phone me back later to get an update. His test equipment showed that the BTO modem was fine with a V good connection (40>02).
Contacted Sky who stated he had just become aware of a Sky network issue. Lo and behold as we were speaking the lights all came on on the router and all is good.
Have done the speed test . net and I am getting just under 38 down and just under 2 up. Fantastic!!!! Well pleased and at the price it is a steal. Love it.
I don't know how to post and display the speed test resuts on here but suffice it to say, I am very happy!

I am already lol. Very nice it is too. Now where was that 50gig BluRay movie I wanted to download lol.
All I need to do now is get a switch for connecting Sky box, PS3, WDTV Live and Apple TV and a NAS box for storage and streaming and then wire the lot together!
That should get me fully connected.

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

Got the call this morning, scheduled for 19th March.

Currently only get 3.5Mb down/0.7Mb up due to distance from exchange etc, so when he offered to let me think about it I said no thanks, I'll just take it, haha. Estimated 40Mb down.
