    Sky Fibre connection

This is a discussion on Sky Fibre connection within the Sky Broadband (Fibre) Help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; so it looks like sky is going to supply the router or is this the 2504n...

Until things become more open, you are never really sure who to believe both on and offline as sky do seem to say lots of things to pacify customer im sure with the best intention
I do find the lack of consistency of information from different members of Sky CS to be very frustrating. One will give you a polar opposite story to one you have spoken to the day before.
Thats been my experience with them for a few years now, for phone, tv or broadband.

The BT Infinity checker still works:

BT Infinity – super fast broadband with a fibre optic internet connection

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Lol... I can get a 3meg line from BT Broabdand thats it.... last night it estimated that my line could support a 40/13.5 fibre connection

Other forums are suggesting that openreach are updating the checker to show only 40/10 rather than the 80/20 update last weekend...

..... oh is it April yet?

When I went to infinity in Aug 2010 the bt estimator said 19 down/4 up. From day 1 its been 38 down/8 up !! I think they were being very conservative with their estimates. Just checked my line again and bt estimator gives 40 down/10 up.
C'mon sky get your act together, I'd like to be able to use anytime +

Of course they won't, but then Sky were undercutting BT on ADSL products too.
