Then I suppose I will have to pay more attention to the other threads about setting it all up for my bestest advantage. Not that I understand any of the techno babble being spoken lol. MER etc, might as well be a foriegn language.
Oh don't worry everything will be fine and soon you will have blazin fast internet. As for babble, I just thought it meant you had three wise openreach men who brought you gold, frankincense, and mer

Now if there was a prize for unseasnable bad humour...

Seriously though, since the BTO guy will set up the Modem and the router is as easy to set up (if not easier since half the work is done by someone else( everything should be fine.

As people are moved across to FTTC, half the common issues where we ask people to confirm that they are doing what they can in the home will gradually become forgotten.

On the other hand, any extensions that BTO have put in will need to be kept clear of feet and children, as too will the Modem. Hopefully this will be sensible advice that people will follow as a matter of course.

From all these people that have been getting fiber installed so far, is there still not anyone who has had to have the modem installed away from the master socket location so we can get an idea of what the BTO engineer can/will do in this situation

I would suggest some music whilst you wait for the BT Openreach engineer.. Maybe Madonna Hung Up? Make sure you find out of the engineer what the maximum speed your line can take on fibre rather than what sky 40/2 puts you on.

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

Just thought I'd point out on here how brilliant my OpenReach engineer was. Fast, effiicient, attached the BT box, which looks remarkably like an old ISDN box to the wall no problem. He even asked if he could borrow a hoover to clean up the mess

      I almost fainted.
