It would be really nice though if someone who has now been connected to SBUF could connect a cable router to the Modem. You may need to extract the log in details from the Sagem 2504N router first though.

andrewjr has already stated that he doesn't have access to a non-Sky cable router.
Ah well, it's a long topic, I might have missed him saying that.

If nobody reports back, i've actually got a DGND3300 and a 3700. I'll definately be giving it a go after the 9th of March.

No problem, this is a long thread. You will need to use the Ethernet WAN port on the DGND3700. Someone on the Netgear forums was simply able to get the router to automatically detect their connection with PlusNet (at least I think it was PlusNet) and it worked 1st time.

Another member on the Netgear forums had to put in their BT Account details in order for it to work.

The DGND3700 does not display the connection stats when connected to the BTO Modem. Everything else works just fine though. There are some other Cable Router features that are currently missing from it. Netgear should put them back at some stage, but they have been working on the 'Red Light' issue.

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

well its been over a week now since my connection has been active and I couldn't be more pleased.

it was so worth the wait for sky to get onboard with fibre internet as it has been brilliant with consistent speeds all throughout the day & night.

i have even gone as far now as using my old virgin netgear GT834G router as network switch (wired only) to connect up the HD box and blu-ray player.

so for those that are awaiting connection in the next few days (sorry can't remember who you are except for morgee) and for those that are waiting for BT to shift a gear and get a move on installing the new cabs and upgrading exchanges its well worth the wait and you will not be disappointed.

for those that are worried about online gaming need not fear either, i spent a good few hours on NHL 12 (Xbox) tonight playing online drop-in games with people in other european countries & americans/canadians and did not suffer once with lag or disconnects.

      Can't wait. Really, I can't.

People in work think I'm mad because I already get 13Mb ish. "Why do you need more"

As I tell everyone "It's never, ever, fast enough"

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

Openreach are paying some serious overtime this week. Openreach engineers have been working to connect boxes both yesterday (Saturday) and today. They said they have been told to try and install 4 boxes a day ..with one team going around installing the cabinets and another team 2 days later to wire the boxes up.

If this is correct lots of people will be getting fibre sooner rather than later.......

      Lies, lies, lies...

All I can see are some 'Men at Work' signs where they have been digging up the road to replace the water pipes where I am.

I don't suppose you happen to have an alternative router you can try? You could make a lot of people very happy if you do
