andrewjr wasn't on Sky broadband & phone at all when he got the his call.

Don't worry though Teecey09 as I am sure one way or the other you will be able to get SBUF soon.

It gives you the option to input it when you register, although not mandatory, iirc

Apologies in advance for dredging this up, but do we know if it's possible to use a 3rd party router with the openreach modem?

Assuming that the link between modem and Sky router is PPPoE, so surely this would make life so much easier now that MER is taken out of the loop??

      Anyone confirm? andrewjr?

Ahh right thanks Scubbie. I suppose I could have already had a call but being as it is rare anyone is in the house during the day on weekdays I could well have missed it. Here's to hoping I still get one when someone is in!

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

It is the same Modem supplied to customers for BT Infinity, TalkTalk, PlusNet and other ISPs. They can all connect their own cable routers to the Modem. I am aware of a few DGND3700 routers that have also successfully been connected to the BTO Modem too.

It would be really nice though if someone who has now been connected to SBUF could connect a cable router to the Modem. You may need to extract the log in details from the Sagem 2504N router first though.

andrewjr has already stated that he doesn't have access to a non-Sky cable router.
