Also could you perform some speed tests again to confirm that there is no 'peak time' for those out there who won't believe otherwise

If possible could you also use the speed test available on this site? I am sure that Ged will love you for that.
no idea, xbox doesn't show a download speed. i just did the song again and it came down in about 4 seconds this time it was so quick that iTunes didn't get a chance to show the download speed.

i've used the speed tester on here a couple of times. i will do it again now.

Ouch! It doesn't appear to cope with the download speeds any more. Upload speeds appear to be a little more consistent though.

Day One in the big Andrewjr house...

Yesterday Andrewjr had sky fibre fitted, the nice BT Openreach engineer got to his house early.... and before long Andrewjr had blazing faster internet that was totally unlimited and without any shaping! Now all the other forum folk can do is wait and see how the first 24 hours have gone - and for sky to pull their finger out and open up sky fibre to everyone!!!

Ahhhh... Andrewjr always believed in better.... and now he got it!!!

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

Andrewjr see how your lovely whizzy connection performs on large file downloads from the net, the offline installer files for the MMORPG game Eve Online consists of a small exe file and 2 payload files that are over 2gb each.

Link to Eve Online offline installer download page

On my 4mb conn if i start to dl payload 1 it goes at just over 500KB/s and says will take 1h20m and if i start payload 2 at the same time they even out to around 260KB/s each and will take about 2.5 hours to complete, would be good to see how your attempt to dl these 2 files compares if you dont mind
