other favourite pages of mine load faster, this site, amazon, game.co.uk, sun dream team

other obvious improvements is being able to watch iPlayer in HD and even skipping to 30 seconds before the end of the program it resumes with only milliseconds of buffering if any.

Xbox Live required an update today which took all of a few seconds to download. so far it has been a positive experience. I'll see how things go in peak time as well as someone at the end of my road has BT Inifinity and he said his speed drops to about 25Mb during peak time

You will be fine, you won't have to deal with BT's backhaul network. If the Sky LLU service is anything to go by, I've never once, ever, ever... on two different sky connections have I ever, ever, seen a speed drop, no matter what time of day, it's about 1.57MB/s all day long. (13Mbit I believe that is)

Well Sky just 'phoned me, as they said they would, and I am booked in for the installer on the morning of 5th March.
They have told me, having tested the line, that I will get 40Mbs down and 2Mbs up. Well impressed if that turns out to be correct but they seem confident so will see in due course.

yeah, they are on par with my dad's virgin cable broadband, so well pleased. they are however higher on my LAN connected desktop as well as the overall down speed is a bit lower.

my XBL experience should be slightly better now although lower pings will not increase my aim.

i'm not impressed with this . i will be moving to sky talk but my phone line is under contract till august. i've been waiting for sky to bring fibre out and looks like i can't get it till august because of sky talk. shame why it can't be the same as current BB as i didn't need to swap to sky talk to get their BB unlimited.

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

You have to take Talk + Rental to qualify for Sky broadband now. At one time you needed TV, now you don't.

To give the user the best experience sky need to be in control as much as possible, this mean if they have your phone line, calls and fibre/brodband they can tinker with it and give you the best they can offer. whilst BT have any control you are somewhat held to BT's rules and systems.
