If you were already a sky broadband customer
How long is the lead time to your connection date
What speeds were offered/ and once connected you achieve
If you know, how far away is your Fibre Cabinet

It will be interesting to see how connections differ based on location

Questions Questions Questions... I know but are the chosen ones and it may save you having everyone asking the same thing..

      Thanks in advance!

      Hello

This my first post so go easy.

I have been a Sky Broadband Unlimited user for 14 months.
I was contacted by Sky on Feb 6 having registered an interest 12 months ago. I signed up on the call and thd first avaiable install date was February 21, which I accepted.
I was told I can expect the full quoted speeds of 40 down 10 up. (I have since had an email from Sky stating 40-66.9 down?!?)
I live in Altrincham south Manchester. I am 40 metres from the cabinet as the crow flies, 100 metres by road.
My router has been delivered today however, I am at work and told my wife to leave well alone!
My current speeds are 6.5 down 0.9 up so you can see why I didn't hesitate to accept for an extra 12.50 per month.

      Hope this helps.

This is not the first post on the net to suggest sky are giving a much higher upload than the suggested 2.... it maybe only for those on the trial or it maybe looking brighter than we thought!!!!!

We shall have to wait and see. It may be that those taken up through the trial period are given a faster connection speed, and anyone signing up once the product has been officially launched will be given the 40/2 connection.

Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB

I am awaiting sky calling me back but on the original call made to me I was quoted 40 down 2 up. But hey if they do get back to me and I find they offer me 10 up I am unlikely to complain!

I agree, I think it could also be them just saying what your line can support not what rate they fix your line at... we shall see on the 17th, when we know a forum user is due to be connected...

I would like to think what ever speed people are connected at ... that at some point when things have settled it will increase to either 40/10 or 80/20
