Also, don't know if there's any significance, but the sky agent stated that all the installations that she'd booked yesterday had been coming up with 11/04 as the earliest available slots?

I think the lead times will vary with exchanges, FTTC uptake in the area and how many engineers they have doing installs.

I thought this too, though I was assuming (rightly or wrongly) that the agent probably hadn't been calling customers just on my exchange all day? I just thought it odd that she specifically mentioned that every install she'd booked yesterday was for 11/04 - could it be that openreach may be busy in the week before with the 80/20 roll out?

Don't forget you've got the Easter break to factor in now, I was told there was a 10 day installation lead time so doesn't sound far off that

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

As Ipster previously stated, lead times will fluctuate. 10 days seems to be the average.

As FTTC take up starts to increase, BTO will either have to draft in more engineers(Which there is only a finite amount), or lead times will start to lengthen.

But TBH, Sky are jumping onto the back of a heavily laden Bandwagon, there are at least a dozen ISP's who have been reselling the BTO Fibre offerings for a while, Not to mention BT Retail Infinity customers. So 10 days is of no surprise to me. Like ADSL in it's infancy, after the initial surge in demand, I'm sure lead times will drop once BTO get on top of things.

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

It's getting very exciting. I'm just counting the days until the 12th of April. Being from Bradford and with news that we've been given a share of the super connected broadband cities pot there's a good chance that my area can be upgraded to FTTP without the expensive cost of you upgrading to it through BT.

How did the install go? - was the BTO engineer accomodating re: your existing wiring / router placement?
