I have read elsewhere that the fibre cabinets are limited to 288 places, which may not be enough to satisfy everyone, especially as Infinity and their resellers will already have taken up some of the space.
I guessed as much when they said that it wouldn't be til April for the SVBN switchover but I'm not moaning. You may recall my earlier post that my step-dad declined the offer of SBUF so he phoned them up to ask if they could improve the BB speed anymore. That was the point that the advisor said they'd just been trained on SBUF and we could have it if we wanted. Thankfully, the offer wasn't turned down this time!

This has been my main concern the past year or so (as fibre has been available here all that time) whilst waiting loyally and patiently for Sky to get their finger out and announce and then launch SBUF.

I had swapped it back round but the poor Sky router didnt know whether it was coming or going. I kept pressing reset which worked for a short time but ddint realise that I needed to hold the reset button in for a while to do a hard factory rest. Once I did that, it all worked beautifully.
Ah, well at least it's sorted now and you can reap the benefits of a fast, stable connection

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

How long does it take for your speed to settle after install?? Is it the full 10 day DLM time?

Mine was in at 9:15 this morning and a few wireless tests throughout he day have given me various results from 25 - 37.5 meg. I know I should do wired tests but I run everything through powerline adapters a gigabit switches so its a pain to make a direct wired connection. Without disconnecting the laptop and lugging it across the house. The router stats are the usual 39998down and 1998 up

The guy that installed the modem showed me my line says and said they're the highest he'd ever seen on his meter, it said he line was capable of 142meg down and 30meg up so if we see sky match Bt with the 80/20 profile I'll be one happy bunny!

Wow! So envious! As you are one of the lucky members to have got onto the SBUF trial, would you mind picking my lottery numbers for this week?!

Err 4, 7, 22, 36, 48, 49. If they win I'll happily swap houses with you to enjoy sky fibre as long as you throw in a 2m sweetener

Now I've picked the numbers I'm going to have to pay them!!

      Had the call this afternoon!
Except I was at a job interview!
Thankfully Wifey was home and has arranged for Sky to call back at 5.30pm!
