They said it's because they're upgrading my current Unlimited package. Only way round it was to cease the current broadband and place an order for SBUF, but they couldn't guarantee that the switchover would happen on the same day as the cease, so I said do it the long way. I'd rather have slow(ish) internet rather than none at all -sad I know!

I think you may find the waiting time stretches out to the official launch date. But good on you, you have got in first and should be guaranteed a place in the cabinet.
I have read elsewhere that the fibre cabinets are limited to 288 places, which may not be enough to satisfy everyone, especially as Infinity and their resellers will already have taken up some of the space.

There were two problems. One was the extension in my house was wired incorrectly (star wiring). Sky sent out an openreach engineer to fix that. The other problem was that I wasnt in when the original BTO guy came and he connected the openreach modem to the Sky router but connected to Port 4 when Port one is the WAN port. I had swapped it back round but the poor Sky router didnt know whether it was coming or going. I kept pressing reset which worked for a short time but ddint realise that I needed to hold the reset button in for a while to do a hard factory rest. Once I did that, it all worked beautifully.

      I stand corrected, thanks.

You can not contact Sky at present to order SBUF, if you have registered your interest for the trial you may be lucky and have the Sky Fiber team contact you but if not then yes you will have to wait till after the official launch, which should be April 12th, to place an order.
