It will be interesting to know whether or not the firmware will be pushed out to all existing ADSL subscribers with the Sagem 2504N as a matter or principal.

You would think so, but I doubt it...

If they push out new software/firmware before the connection date ou could loose your service if it is anyway different to the current software... and if they push it after BTO have been and installed a modem then it may not connect to download any update... I would rather they just sent me a letter with my username and password and let me get my own router or the option to upgrade to a better router with better functions...

...or at least offer people the choice like most other ISPs.

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

Sky 'phoned me yesterday to inform me (having pre registered an interest) that I may now upgrade to the new fibre unlimited BB.
Told them I would want to do some research first, so came here, and they will, apparently call me back in a few days to see if I want to go ahead with the upgrade.
Having read this thread and done the BT Infinity test (Reckon I can get 40Mb Down and 10Mb up) I think I will go ahead with this as the speed is worth the extra 10.00pm to me.
ATM I get a max of 14Mb down and about 54kb up so the extra speed promised for 10.00 sounds good to me.
I wonder if they will call me back though!

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

I remember a time when I paid 39.99 a month for 1Mb ADSL (Granted it was 2003). For 20 I'm waiting for Sky's hand so I can bite it off, along with the arm....

      Re: Sky Fibre connection

      Hi guys,
Last night got a call from sky stating they are contacting people who had pre-registered interest in fibre and because my exchange, cab etc are already enabled they offered me the SBUF product for 20p/m - I have tv,line rental etc.
Obviously said yes in an instant, then had the nice surprise of the 50 installation being waived !
Router ordered and on way, engineer visit booked for 28th Feb - Happy Days
