As you already have a phone line if it is Sky Broadband Unlimited you are looking to purchase then no installation should be required. The Sky Hub will be sent to you by Royal Mail. Self install is usually straight forward but free telephone support is available if required.

thanks for your relpy and the other page, I went and ordered sky llu but I have a problem, I have already got a mac code from plusnet , I understand sky arrange the mac code themselves?
will thus hold up or delay my order?

      cheers again,

If you weren't asked for a MAC when the order was placed then it probably will not be required. If you are concerned about this then for peace of mind speak to Sky Broadband Provisioning.

      Re: sky llu any good

Generally the MAC code is only required when switching between BTW products. Sky Broadband Connect is such a product.

You are ordering either Sky Everyday Lite or Sky Broadband Unlimited as you now have Sky's LLU kit in your exchange. You don't need the MAC code for this order.

As for reliability, I personally have had no major issues. Performance should be on par with any other ADSL2+ provider, provided that they don't throttle the traffic during peak times. Sky of course doesn't slow you down at any time, unless there are outside forces at work.

Sadly all the ISPs who use the BTO infrastructure are reliant on BTO Engineers maintaining the network. There should not be any favouritism, but I believe there is at times. However Sky's Customer Services centres are good. Most are based within the UK, including one centre near Edinburgh.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms
