Re: Free calls to sky CS for TV and Broadband

Not had the letter but we have had this through unofficially by PM

As of 1st July, all calls make to customer services sales Technical Support and other areas of Sky will be free.

The changes to 08442 numbers were so that Sky can charge upto 6ppm how ever this is possibly changing to 4ppm during evenings and weekends and 6ppm during the daytime for none sky customers.

And for all Sky customers on Sky Talk Free Time or Unlimited will not be charged for any calls to sky.

Also some changes to Sky Talk Unlimited and some offers on it too.

Changes are as of the 1st July instead of having 10 International Pop countries to phone this is been updated to 20 international countries.

The offer for sky talk unlimited at the moment is that if this has been offered to a customer and the customer has not taken it for any reason as he thinks not going to save anything on it or just plain not interested in taking it ie

There is an offer on your account that if you would like to try Sky Talk on a trial to see what you think of the services Sky can give you the Sky Talk Unlimited package normally costing 5.00 per month free for the first 6 months as a trial base.

Saving 30 for the first 6 months as a trial if you are not happy with it or you think you are not saving any money on it give Sky a call back and Sky can remove this off your account and return your telephone services back to your old provider.

      Bits from letter

From 1st July, all calls to Sky call centres (for TV) will be exclusively free to Sky Talk customers no matter how long the call

International numbers doubled to 20 from 15th April

Free calls to broadband technical help ( says in letter "you will now find any calls to broadband technical helpdesk free of charge") doesn't give a date so I'm assuming it's from now?

All paid for by fleecing customer who dial other 0844, 0845 and 0870 numbers without remembering to dial 1280 first.

And as for the people who moved over to Sky line rental who don't even have the option to dial 1280…

Good news about the free customer service numbers (which one will use if the rest is not working though)

      But worth nting the increases
      1. connection fee increased from 6p to 7p
      2. inclusive calls after 1st hour increase from 0.8 p to 4p per minute
      3. Rate for daytime calls increased from 3.25 p to 4p per minute
      4. calls to 0845 numbers increased from 2p pm in daytime and 0.5p pm in evenings to 6p pm at all times
      5. calls to 0870 numbers increased from 6p pm in daytime and 1.5p pm in evenings to 10p pm in day and 8p in evenings seven days a week

Does'nt look all that free now does it??

Thats all well and good for you guys on skytalk.
I pay sky 50 a month for my TV package and broadband, so I think I should get those calls free too! Not too much to ask for eh?

Re: Free calls to sky CS for TV and Broadband

      @arsenal2940,

If you are on a broadband & TV package, the free Weekend & Evenings calls are a free upgrade. Log in to your Sky account & tick the box.

A letter of confirmation is then sent & all phone calls are then payed for via your Sky account.

Alternatively, BT are now offering a similar service for no extra charge. Had the offer via a phone call from BT yesterday. I told him I got the same service from Sky. (Not entirely sure which is the best value though )

      Regards,

      Max
