    South Wales and SW England b/b and Talk problems

      South Wales and SW England b/b and Talk problems

      Just letting people know that S Wales and SW England are 'experiencing problem's (rough translation means we have no service!) on broadband.

      I rang them at half nine this morning and they said they had only just been made aware of it, have the engineers out but have no idea of a timescale within which it will be fixed.

      They DO now have an automated message on their line saying that customers in the above areas will have problems with both b/b AND Sky Talk. So far, only my b/b is down, the phone is working fine (famous last words!)

      On my computer, it LOOKS as though you are connected, showing an excellent wireless and wired connection, but it doesn't actually work!

      Interested to know if any of the other affected areas ARE experiencing phone problems?

      My brother's BT line is telling him that it has been disconnected.

      Really? I've just tried mine again and it seems to be ok but I have a sinking feeling that it won't last!

      They seemed so clueless as to what the problem even WAS when I spoke to them.

      Not good. Still no broadband whatsoever.

      It's absolutely ridiculous, been down since 9ish this morning, no phone, no broadband. Until around 12:30 there was no dial tone and noise on the line, now there is a dial tone but if you try to ring out every number is engaged and if you try to ring the number a message comes up saying the "number you dialed is out of service"

      I work from home and literally rely on being online for work, today I've had to make do with an intermittent 2G/3G dongle!

      I've been thinking of ditching Sky Talk and broadband for a while now, this may well be the straw that broke the camels back!

      Sky broadband is a domestic service and relying on it for business purpose is prohibited.

      As with all outtages, it could be an Openreach fault. Not Sky's fault if that's the case. Of course, it could well be a Sky equipment fault but it's impossible to point the finger without knowing the full details as to what has happened.

      Ours has just come back online here in Aberdare South Wales area, went down this morning and broadband plus phone kicked back in about 15 minutes ago.
