      Easynet Exchange Software Updates 2009

Hi everybody, I just find out the following report. My local Exchange - Maida Vale is mentioned on that report saying: 03/11/2009 00:00:00 1d 10h 35m Multiple Exchanges Status Clear.

Easynet > Support Portal - almost at the bottom of the page.

But, what this report means? Does it mean that my local exchange is ready to accept the new Sky Broadband Unlimited up to 20MB speed change?

All Sky enabled exchanges are capable of 20Mbs and have been from the very start. All Sky are doing is lifting the 16 Mb cap. Unless you are getting 15-16Mbs at the moment, it will make no difference to you. If you are, you should phone Sky and ask them to upgrade you.

      well, thats not true.

When they last checked my line a month back, they realised i could support 18 mb's so they upgraded me from 8, without any notice at all.

So if your lucky like I was, it may effect you.

You were previously on G.DMT which Sky cap to 8Mb, when you were moved to ADSL2+ your speed increased. That does not mean that the speed was not available before, just that your particular line was not enabled for it. Had you sought advice when you were syncing at 8 Mb you would have been advised to contact Sky to have them move your line over to the faster Mode. You speed increase came about because Sky are trying all lines on the faster Mode, some lines like it, others don't.

The OP is already on ADSL2+
