This is a really quick fix more than likely needed for all the people coming to Anytime+ with a 3rd party broadband provider.

Another tip that I have read elsewhere to resolve this problem is that some routers (e.g. Netgear DGN1000) accessing Sky Anytime+ from other ISPs require the Multiplexing Method to be changed from VC-based to LLC-based (in the ADSL settings).

There are some specific resolutions described here: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-a...t-anytime.html

As for turning the Network connection 'On' this is normally done automatically when you first connect an Ethernet cable to the STB and a router, Ethernet switch or some other suitable network device.

Apologies to Scubbie - this tip was already posted by her in the thread she refers to in post #3 above (which I somehow totally failed to notice!)

Thanks. From my quick Google search, it seems to be a common issue at the moment for would-be Anytime+ users with other ISPs!

There's so much great useful information scattered amid the various threads on this forum, maybe there should be a Skyuser "Wiki" to collate it all together as one definitive source?!

Re: Best fix for SKY Anytime + connection "Fail"

I composed the guide on setting up Anytime+ as I saw that the forum was starting to get a lot of those posts and many of the issues might be identical between different ISPs and routers.

I recall some having issues with particular routers on their Sky Broadband connections. One comes to mind where a business router was being used and all the ports were closed by default.

As this has been opened up to all UK ISPs not, it would help if Sky actually made it known which ports are used.

If anyone has any specific confirmed tips, then they are more than welcome to add to the thread linked above. Otherwise a search of this forum will find a huge number of tips.
