My openmedia wifibridge wouldnt allow me to connect to the net whe I disabled the built in wireless on the laptop. All it did was throw me off thinking it wasnt working when it was.

Back to basics. Do the right lights come on showing it connects after setting it up using the pc disk?
And im talking when youve just got the bridge being usb power only. The rj45 cable is unplugged.

Yes, but according to the manual do the right lights come on to show it connects to your router?

Re: Sky Anytime Plus - Wifi Bridge Help

Go back to basics and try this, connect the bridge to the boxes ethernet port with an ethernet cable and connect the power, then -
      1. Using the remote control, press the Services button.
      2. Use the right arrow buttons to highlight Settings and press Select.
      3. Use the left/right arrow buttons to highlight Network and press Select.
      4. When on the network configuration screen, using the up/down arrow and select buttons, choose your wireless network from the list(there may be more networks visible) and then enter your password using your remote control keypad.
      5. Make sure you copy the exact network name and password from your router.
      6. Follow the on-screen instructions to save the changes made.

Re: Sky Anytime Plus - Wifi Bridge Help

I had the same problem and this is what I did:
when I went through the setup from the CD it see I had WPA2 wifi encryption and set an option to AES (I could not change this setting) and my router was setup as WPA2 with TKIP.
So I fixed this by changing the option in my router to AES and then the wifi bridge connected straight away and the blue LED came on inside the wifi bridge.

      I hope this helps.
