Sky box noise when connected to Anytime+
Does anyone else's Sky Wireless Connector make an almost constant high pitched noise that sounds like a cross between being punched in the ear and the motion sensors from Aliens?

Re: Sky Wireless Connector noise
If that is happening, it is faulty and should be returned to Sky for a replacement. The wireless bridge should be completely silent.

Re: Sky Wireless Connector noise
Well that's good to know.
Like a mug I ordered two of these things. One turned up yesterday. It connects to my BT home hub from the bedroom but like I said, needs to be turned off at night for fear of attracting stray dogs. It refuses to connect to my Sitecom repeater in the living room set up as well but that's a story for another thread when number two turns up.

Re: Sky Wireless Connector noise
I wanted a simple plug and play solution. Looks like I'll have to send a box back and figure out the settings for my repeater anyway so with hindsight, yeah, I should've done my homework.
Are the lights supposed to be flashing all the time on this thing? I figured it would go to sleep eventually. No idea what it's doing 24/7.

Re: Sky Wireless Connector noise
I don't have a Sky bridge, but I would think the lights should only be flashing when data is being sent/received.

Re: Sky Wireless Connector noise
The Sky box is what's making the noise. I now have it connected by Ethernet and it's still doing it. It's very quiet but really annoying at night. Needs to be turned off. Does nobody else have this.

Re: Sky Wireless Connector noise
All boxes make some noise but it should not be invasive. It sounds like your fan is making more noise than it should. You could try insulating it it from the platform it sits on as this may be amplifying the the noise. Some have glued rubber door stops to the bottom, this acts as a cushion and also allows better air circulation around the box.

Re: Sky Wireless Connector noise
I'll try that but putting pressure on the box doesn't alter the sound. It's still there when I turn broadband off in the menu or block it with access control at the router. It only stops when I pull the ethernet cable out. Very odd.
