      Re: Anytime+ and Billion 7800N

      Hi

I am having same problem. Have connected ethernet cable from 7800N to Sky+ HD box. Get local connection but no service connection. I have tried manual IP configuration using router settings but no change. Have spoken to Sky.Tried resets, rebuilds, switched routers and/or Sky box on and off but no change.

My router has a static IP address. Sky network settings include DHCP on but it cannot be changed.

      Any ideas?

      Re: Anytime+ and Billion 7800N

Hi, I have BT infinty with an Edimax 300M range extender located close by the Sky+ HD box. I connected the Sky+ HD to the extender via a Ethernet cable. Having registered for Anytime + I could not see the connection link on the Service Network menu. However when I went on to Services and clicked on SKY+ set up it immediately recognised the connection to router and that was it. Shame SKY could not have this posted somewhere. Anytime + is brilliant with huge amounts access to films, sports, and you can get onto ITV Player etc.

      Hi

I have now followed the manual IP configuration advice and, hey presto, it works!. Congrats to skuyser moderator Scubbie!!

The only thing to notice is that I was expecting the light on the router associated with the Skybox Ethernet connection to be green; however, it is still amber. Never mind I now have a full Anytime + connection.

      Re: Anytime+ and Billion 7800N

I hope this is the right place - if not, please just say.

I'm using a Sky Wireless Connector (yep $60) and a Billion 7800N for my home network, attempting to get Anytime+. It runs through the connections nicely, recognises the home network but then fails to connect (check settings, password).

I've read the forums, updated my firmware, done manual input but still no connection, so no Anytime+.

Only success was when I "opened" my network (yep, no security) and that time it worked. I believe I'm putting my password in correctly, Sky help talked me through it but still no success. There's a bit of stuff here on 7800N. I don't think the 1483MER stiff is relevant but i don't know enough to be sure.

      Any advice? Many thanks, Trevor

I have to assume that you have successfully connected you Laptop via the Sky Media Adaptor.

I would consider asking for a refund and getting the cheaper and better Netgear WNCE2001.

      PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.
