Red face Wireless Routers, Ethernet Adapters and Repeaters

      Hi,

I have a Sky HD box in my living room (no telephone socket). My router is upstairs and it is the Sagem 2504n model.

I also have a Belkin N Wireless Modem Router.

In addition to my Sky box, I have the usual array of consolves and mobiles/laptops that connect to the net. I'm currently using a 30m cable for Sky box which obviously is in no way ideal.

Now, having looked around, I'm still very confused about my options

      1. Use the 30M cable - no chance!
      2. Buy the official sky wireless adaper - costly so very unlikely
      3. Somehow use the Belkin in the setup? If so, any pointers?
      4. Get something like this (200Mbps Mini Powerline Ethernet Adapter) - will it work?

      Thanks in advance.

      JJ

Each of those will work. Essentially you need to evaluate the costs against functionality and looks. Everyone will have different requirements with regards to each of those options.

Take a look at the following two threads and the documents in them:

Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.
