This program will be deleted ???
I am just downloading "Housewife 49" and its at 50%.
It says "This program will be deleted at 11.59pm Tue 01 Jan".
Apart from it being past that date - unless they mean next year - is this deleted from anytime or deleted from my box?

It will automatically be removed from your STB on that date in 2013.
I suspect that all the ITV Player content is the same for the moment as the couple I downloaded from there had the same dates.

No, they have always had time limits on some material on Anytime as far as I know.
I guess because in some cases the time is so long that we tend to forget about the film or programme by the time it comes to deletion date.

I would agree. Since most of the on-line content with different Players is often time limited, I would imagine that they will insist that such content has an expiry date.
