Sky Wireless Bridge with other devices?

Does anyone know if it is possible to use one of the Sky Wireless Connectors with another device other than a Sky HD box? (For example a PC or a Blu-ray player)

I have been sent one, but now have my box connected using homeplugs.

You should be able to use it with any device that has an Ethernet card. If the PC or BRP has an ethernet card, it should work.

I've just had it connected to my laptop. I can't get an IP address and can see no way of connecting to it through a browser so I can configure it. Am I missing something, or is there another way these bridges are set up?

Do you have a set up CD? If so have you tried it? How are you powering it, USB or mains adapter?

Sky were supplying devices very similar to the Netgear wireless ethernet adapter, I don't know if they are still supplying them or have changed. Have a look here-

      You could try this:

Connect it to your Sky box and configure it to connect to your wifi first. You will probably see that the bridge will hold the configuration settings even after you disconnect it from your Sky box and connect another device to it via ethernet.

Haven't tested this but it might work.
