      anytime+ corruption;(

Quite baffled why sometimes I get a small segment of my downloaded anytime+ programme that is corrupted (image distorts then pauses and returns to normal playout with a minute or so skipped).

From my experience of downloading stuff, I don't see why you would ever get "missing" or "bad" bytes downloaded? OK it could be abnormally terminated, but this was something missing int' middle....

If you reload and replay the same file does it always do it in the same place.

if so its most likely due to bad compression when the video file is created.

I do a lot of video editing and another common fault is to lose lip synch as well as glitches you desribe.

Dunno, did not try that - prog is deleted, but will do so next time. Thx

It probably corrupted just when Lily Allen was getting nice and rude in her "in confidence" interview.

I have read elsewhere that this is a known problem with some downloads from Anytime+.

Apparently if you rewind a few seconds and play that bit again, it plays ok - sometimes!

I wonder if sky has deliberately put a small defect into some downloads so that that can trace it back should someone manage to copy it into a torrent?

      Re: anytime+ corruption;(

saying that I notice that on Sky One, Living etc there is a small loss of sound for a couple of secs every 10 mins as if to stop people from capturing it.

What the OP describes though sounds like a key frame hasn't got recorded properly and all the frames after that look corrupted until they reach the next key frame.

Mercifully all of "Martina Cole's The Take" has been glitch free, wouldn't wish to miss any of that sex and violence, lol.
