Just got the 1tb box 49.00 but......

Hey called up sky and they are coming tuesday.

I had to sign up for another 1 year contract but, they are giving me HD charge 3 months free, 60.00 Credit after 45 days of my account being active, and the 1TB box for 49.00.

He said I would have to use my old box upstairs, I thought they would give me a new box, what happens if the old multiroom hd box konks out in 3 months, I am not paying 20.00 per month for something I can use, so are they going to extend my warranty on my old box I have had for 2 years ? I would have thought they would give me a new box with a full warranty.

Just added another 20.00 per month on my contract, I dont even really need HD in my bedroom as I have a Media PC in my bedroom

But 60.00 credit and 3 months free HD charge seems ok

Re: Just got the 1tb box 49.00 but......

I cancelled I just cant warrant 20.00 extra per month for the multi room.

I have freeview and also a PS3 and PC in the bedroom, so got tons of media.

It would be nice to have a 1tb, and thats what I was doing it for, but not for another 20.00 for hd and multiroom charge and my bill is like 75.00 already + calls so that would be over 100 a month for TV.

You can take the box out for 49 if you get either the hd pack or multi room. Well this was my case. I just ordered it.

I called them back and they said if I didnt take both I would have to pay 60.00 instal fee, told them no, dont need sky in my room that bad

If they would have offered the 1tb box for 49.00 plus multiroom with no install then I would have taken it.

Re: Just got the 1tb box 49.00 but......

I should have mentioned I chose self install for 15 quid which made my total 64 pounds. I was being slapped with the 60 pound installation charge too but I told them if I wanted that I would have ordered online.

With multi-room your case might be different if you need a fresh run of coax from your to dish to your bedroom. If your dish is at an accessible height you might be able to run the cable yourself and opt for self install provided there are spare ports on your LNB.
