Re: Anytime Plus Question
You will need a Sky+ HD STB.
You should have an upgrade option in your Sky account section. This will provide you with the correct price in your instance.
As for cancelling everything and taking out a new Sky package in your wife's name, this has been done successfully by other members, but you could have a small delay in the change over period. This could result in a lose of Internet access for a few weeks.

Re: Anytime Plus Question
Only offers multi room.
Or £249 for a 1TB HD Box.
Or free with the HD Pack
Don't want HD Pack, as my 32" CRT is still better than most of the reasonably priced Plasma/LCD/LED.

Re: Anytime Plus Question
Have you taken a look at eBay? There is always someone selling a box there.
A couple of firms install a 1.5TB drive and resell the STB to those who want one. The is one, but there are a couple of others on eBay or Amazon:
AMSTRAD DRX895 1.5TB SKY+HD BOX | Massive 1.5TB recording capacity box.
Make sure that you don't get a Thomson STB if you ever want to download Anytime+, which is the whole object of this thread.
As for CRT vs LCD/LED/Plasma, I've got a Panasonic 28" Wide-screen CRT TV & a new Samsung 40" HD TV.
Whilst SD content looks really nice on the 28", HD content looks even better on the 40" TV.
I know that they are expensive when you already have a working TV, but i must admit to liking the difference. Read this review:
