Amstrad still no SKY ANYTIME + ????

WTF is going on with sky.

They sent me an email weeks ago, saying its soon going to be here, and they will give me a wireless dongle or something, dont need it, but why is it taking so long.

I am sure people who have thompson boxes arebeing offered free boxes, but us with the amstrad are still not getting anything.

      Am I missing something?

      Thanks

This is the reply I received today

      -----
Thank you for your email about Sky Anytime+.

Iím very sorry for the poor service youíve received and apologise for any inconvenience youíve suffered as a result of this.

Regarding Sky Anytime+ unfortunately we do not have a guaranteed date for when sky anytime+ will be updated on the Amstrad boxes, we aim to updated every box in the nearer future. I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I had the anytime+ software update on my box but it reverted back and I lost anytime (and I not got the wireless offer either) I know it's a pain to wait but I am sure the amstrad will get it eventually (assuming you have a 780 box)

It looks like the techies at BSkyB haven't been able to resolve the issue with the Amstrad DRX780 after all.

I agree with you in respect that them making all their promises and then it going wrong, that something else may now be required.

I have learnt that Sky likes to keep it's plans quiet. Whether this is because it is afraid of competition or because it hates to disappoint, I am not sure. Hopefully you will be suitably compensated in due course.

Re: Amstrad still no SKY ANYTIME + ????

My mates thinking of moving to VM and Tivo. For him it's actually cheaper than Sky. For me it'd cost more than Sky.... oh and VM wont cable my street as they say it will cost too much to do and not yield enough profit for them.

Anytime+ is okay if you watch it on the small screen. On my 50in plasma, the low bitrate really shows. They have put a couple of HD things on there recently tho.

Re: Amstrad still no SKY ANYTIME + ????

I received a phone call from CS on Friday in response to my complaint.

They apologised for the delay and also apologised for the repeatedly missed promised activation dates. They said that they have absolutely no idea when Anytime+ will be available on the 780 and that advisors should not be giving customers activation dates or estimates.

Re: Amstrad still no SKY ANYTIME + ????

I had a amstrad drx780 but had it changed on monday to a amstrad drx 890 I managed to get sky to send an engineer free of charge (they wanted to charge) due to the fact we have been with Sky for a number of years in addition to that just for info i managed to get sky for half price for six months

we already have multiroom for free due to mistakes made in the past the

half price for six months was offered in response to speaking with the cancellations department this is not always going to work but i guess the fact we have every package sky offer and longevity in terms of time with Sky and have never tried to cancel before helped, plus the chap I spoke to was superb
so to let you know i now have anytime plus which is good no one from Sky knew when it would be avaliable on the drx780 so i let them know my box was freezing from time to time all sorted now. Hope this helps everybody
