Thumbs up Excellent job by Sky

Excellent job by Sky. After waiting patiently for my DRX 780 to have Sky Anytime+, Sky gave me a visit today and changed my HD Box and also replaced my Dish. I now can receive Anytime+ and I think itís great, also the EPG is fast. The box itself is a bit smaller.
Also the work was done by a proper Sky Engineer who knew what he was doing, as before I had contractors who gave me problems.
Once again Sky thanks for a job well done.

The Engineer said the box is a 250gig does that mean the total is 500gig?
      I now am running:
      4F31D2
      Model: sysf26.09
      Software: 37.119.6
Is there on the web Technical spec of this unit? Also reviews. If so please give me the link.

Do you still have an Amstrad DRX780 or do you now have the DRX980? (label on the back)

The 250Gb is what you can access to record your chosen Anytime+ and items aired over the Satellite. The 500Gb is the total capacity of the drive.

The difference is what Anytime (now known as Showcase) uses. You cannot make use of this capacity.

its certainly not the 780 as that has gone back to sky so its got be the other one. I cant see the label on the back without dismantling all my equipment.

Did you ask for a change? There seems to be a lot of conflicting reports on what is happening with the 780.

      Re: Excellent job by Sky

Apart from not being able to receive Anytime+ it had faults of freezing picture, Sound distortion, so Sky decided to replace the set. This set is slightly smaller and has a bigger hard drive. The engineer also said Sky makes the boxes now, although Amstrad make them they are not badged Amstrad anymore. "the 780 is now dead and buried I hope, they took it away"

One strange thing I noticed is when the set is put into standby the light on the front goes a very dim green, and when switched on it goes a brighter green. Seems strange and confusing why they did not leave the standby light red?
What does the USB under the flap where the card goes do?

So you called in Sky as you were having problems and they replaced the box. It was not a case of having it replaced just because you could not get Anytime+. Others with the 780 might want to take note of this.

Amstrad has been owned by Sky for several years now.

Thank you for your sarcasm Isitme, you are so wrong in your opinion. Never the less despite your mockery it created a smile if nothing else!

I am sorry if you interpret my remarks as sarcasm or mockery, they were certainly not meant too be.

Where was I wrong in my opinion? You had a faulty box which could not get Anytiime+ replaced and you were lucky enough to get a superior box, don't you think others should get the same chance? If you don't, you should not have bothered posting in the first place and raising the possiblity.

You must of not read the fault of "it had faults of freezing picture, Sound distortion" Anytime+ is in fact to me immaterial. The Post was in fact praising Sky,s service and not boasting. " Sorry for putting the post in the first place but as your a Moderator and it upsets you so much why dont you remove the post and all its reply,s etc. I will not bother anymore, As your Bigotry behaviour is disgraceful.

Am I missing something here? Why has this thread suddenly turned nasty?
