What does the USB under the flap where the card goes do?
There are 4 states for the power indication light:

Green: STB displaying a picture for your TV that you can view

Amber/funny green: STB is in Standby mode. In this state it can record scheduled programmes and Showcase (aka Anytime) content

Red: STB is not in standby mode and will not record any scheduled or Showcase programmes (pressing the On/Off button for a few seconds will cause this)

Off: No power to the STB

All the USB ports (one on rear panel, 2nd under flap on front) and the eSata port (on the rear panel) are disabled. These are reserved for future usage and no further information is publicly available.

Sorry, but you have misunderstood my posts completely. Your first post made no mention of faults on your box, only that it could not receive Anytime+. Your post gave me the impression that Sky had called you out of the blue, to upgrade your box as it could not receive A+. If they had, it would have been very good news for 780 owners as it would have meant they had a chance of having their box replaced in the same way as owners of Thomson boxes. As you did have faults on the box, it means that others will have to report their box faulty before they get a replacement.
Once again I am sorry you did not understand the true meaning of my posts, I will have nothing more to say on the matter.
