If the problem was caused by Sky and the update then they will have to replace/repair it.

I had a problem with my Sky+ box a few years ago, out of guarantee - guy told me I'd have to pay for an engineer to try and sort it or replace it.... I phoned back 2 minutes later - got a different person explained the problem and got a replacement.

The thing is, I don't think they can make you pay a subscription if you don't have a working box to receive their service

I would expect that the Official word is that they can & will get Anytime+ fixed on the Amstrad DRX780s.

Until such time that this is resolved, or someone will give up, then you'll be stuck.

There have been many issues with the other Sky+ HD STBs since Darwin was installed. These have gradually been addressed and rectified, but customers have suffered during this time.

Mine is working more smoothly now, but there are still several issues to be addressed in the overall scheme of things.

Re: Anytime+ Amstrad 780 problem thread...

I have an Amstrad DRX780UK. Several weeks ago I had the "tinny" effect that people have referred to here. Didn't really know what it was, but tracked it down to the Sky box, so switched it off and on again at the socket, which seems to have fixed it.

Since then I appear to have had several updates (or problems) - I've not been watching the version number, however, a few times when I've switched it on, it has been on the customer service channel.

Not long after the original tinny problem, I received an email from Sky:

      Dear Customer,
Sky TV on demand will soon be at your fingertips. We've been bringing Sky Anytime+ to Sky+HD boxes around Britain, and you'll be pleased to hear that yours is one of the next on our list. So it won't be long before you can watch whatever you're in the mood for, whenever you want.
Depending on your Sky TV subscription, you can delve into box sets of your favourite series, enjoy documentaries, art shows and relive classic sporting moments.
A little something to thank you for waiting
We appreciate your patience, so we'd like to offer you a free Sky Wireless Connector worth 60. Just the thing if your Sky+HD box and Sky Broadband router are in different rooms or if you just hate all those wires.
So keep an eye on your emails. We'll be in touch as soon as your Sky box is ready for Sky Anytime+ with details of how to activate and claim your free Wireless Connector.
      The Sky Anytime+ team
That was about three weeks ago and I've not heard from them since, however, I have some Homeplugs, so plugged one in just on the offchance, and it came up with a message stating it had detected a network connection. I've not tried to access anything "Anytime", because I wasn't sure if that would stop them offering me the wireless connector, but I've just checked my OS number now (as it has only today appeared to have done another update) and it is showing as SYSF32.22.02

Can I put the cat amongst the pigeons, so to speak?

Sky are really pushing their Anytime+ service now. It's appearing in their on-line advertisements, TV Ads and correspondence.

I wonder what would happen if people started writing in to complain?

Anytime+ was initially launched September/October 2010. That is 6 months ago! New customers are able to receive it immediately, yet they still have not resolved the issue for those with the Amstrad DRX780, many of whom have been loyal Sky customers for many years.

My Sky box received (once again) the Anytime+ update during today, this time there was no problems linked to the update.

No Anytime service as yet - but at least my box is on the verge of receiving it again lol

I too wrote a letter, saying been offered better pack with virgin for same price.

Maybe they will offer me a 1tb box for 100.00 or free

Not happy with this anytime, but dont want to go to virgin as their customers service suck. and they lie. and I caught them as well.

I think they just called me as well, on my mob but couldnt answer as am at work,
