Unbelievable .. I've finally gotten a reply, after 3 emailed complaints .. and all they've done is copy/pasted a standard reply suggesting the problems I have had with my box is due to extreme weather conditions?! Are these guys smoking something?!

Re: Anytime+ Amstrad 780 problem thread...

I've just had a phonecall off them - I guess the last email from the pot smokers was from the standard "customer services". The lady was very sympathetic, and said they realised they had had problems with these boxes, which currently they had no timeframe as to when it would be sorted.

      She offered two options:

Either replace our box "like for like" (although, I assume, not exactly the same, as that would be pointless!), for free. This would be a free box, free installation, but it would be a refurbished box with no warranty.

The other option was to pay 49 for a 1TB box, free installation, tied into a new 12 month contract, with 12 month warranty. No need for multiroom or anything else. Just a one off payment and the 12 month extension to the contract.

So I've gone for the second option ... she has gone to arrange someone else to add the order onto my account and is then going to ring me back for payment and to arrange the engineer visit.

Only problem is ... I have a lot of TV to watch before he arrives! (fingers crossed she does ring back, and it wasn't just a fob-off)

They tried that with mine but the computer wanted 164
For 1tb box and would not budge. Had phone call Thursday 2 hours late to
Process order. Found 164 and said would ring back soon. 3'hours later I went for
Extra hd to get the cheap 1tb. Tonigt I rewound sky news on 780
For about 30'seconds of tv and sound went out if sync
With picture again. Anytime plus still working on
      My 780 though :-)

OK that’s it all done and ordered, install next Friday....

      1TB box for 49.00
Old boxed replaced foc with a HD + box refurb for existing multiroom
Free installation, including new dish and cables.
I have had to agree to another 12 month contract for HD and multiroom, although I'm not under any contract for sky programmes, which will enable to get any offer that are available. I currently get 50% discount on my Sky world package, but not on HD or Multiroom. This is great for me as we always use HD and multiroom and have no intention to cancel anyway.

      Happy Days.......

ps I was also told that the Amstrad 780 box may never be compatible and as a goodwill gesture this is the reason I have this offer.

Sky customer services told me the 780
Will never be updated but anytime plus said they are confident that they will be fully compatiable

Don't listen to what Sky CS say as they don't know themselves as they are not kept in the loop, only those working on the boxes are in the know and they are not public facing.

Complained by email yesterday evening to Executive Office at Sky, received a telephone call this morning (and email) - They're giving me a 1TB box for 49.... and a wireless connector and free installation and 12 month Guarantee. Installation this week :-)

Oh... and because they've enabled Anytime+ to work on my account, I now have Anytime+ on my DRX780 box :-)

      Happy me :-)

Well not going to win my new box argument with them (Regardless of how I try) However I have accepted the 20 a month offer I was given and also? I went to ebay and have bid on (and won) a DRX890-C (Not sure if there's a dfference between a DRX890 or it's the same model if somebody can answer that for me) so not totally happy with the whole thing but that's as good as i'll get
