      You can join the SkyHD box direct to the router with an ethernet cable, if that is what you mean. That is actually the cheapest, easiest and most stable way to join them. You can also join it to the Ethernet port of a homeplug, which is much the same.

      Isitme - - yes the sagem router is upstairs in bedroom along with my desktop pc and I need a homeplug to hook into the skbox which is downstairs.
      The option of having a wifi booster included with the homeplug seems to tick the right boxes so it looks like the way to go - I hope
      Thanks again all

      As I said, the Billion plugs are expensive. Using the plugs recommended by U/Adrian and this router -
      TP-Link TL-WR841N Wireless N Router Atheros: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories it works out a good bit cheaper and gives you a 4 port switch to boot.

      using itsme's suggestion

      you have a homeplug on the router

      the second homeplug near you sky box.

      the home plug near your Sky box connects to the suggested router

      The Sky HD box connects to the switch via ethernet cable

      leaving the wireless avalible for your ipad,

      This would mean that you don't need to get the expensive wireless adaptor for the Sky+ box saving you about 50.
