sd anytime on hd box
We were on cable when we were renting then had to move back to the girlfriends parents when the lease ran out which had a sky sd box, we found this to be far superior to cable mainly due to anytime, now we have bought our own house and immediately ordered sky and thought it was great that we were getting a free hd box....what a mistake the main reason we got sky has gone we were getting movies on hd anytime but thats gone now, to top it off we have have 10 months left on our contract so we can't cancel. Is there any end in sight to this mess SD ANYTIME TO SD SUBSCRIBERS please mr sky or in 10 months time you will be losing 76 euros a month from us.

Re: sd anytime on hd box
I was reading on the Sky forum last night about the fact that Sky has made the HD movies available to SD customers, provided you had the correct movie packs.
I don't know if this is still the case as I upgraded to HD over Christmas. I would suggest that you try playing one of them to find out.
Provided you can connect your Sky STB to your network, you should be able to get Anytime+ enabled. This will give you a huge amount of movies and other programs to view. Currently most of the downloads are SD quality, but they are as good as watching fresh from the dish.
Anytime tends to show stuff that you could otherwise watch or that they are promoting. I'd suggest that you also look at searching the schedules and setting your planner to record things.

Not sure if I can connect the stb to my network bit I'll look in it, as for packages I have what's called in Ireland as skyworld package which is everything bar hd, you were correct we we had the movies up to tonight which made it bearable but really not happy with this.

Re: sd anytime on hd box
There are a few different ways that you can connect your Sky box to your router. The first is to purchase the dongle from Sky. Another is to run a network cable from the router to the STB. Finally, if the cable is too long, you could obtain a pair or Homeplugs or Powerline adapters.
There are threads on this forum (a quick search will find the threads) regarding the homeplugs & Powerline adapters.

Re: sd anytime on hd box
he cant connect it to the router, he is ROI so no Sky Broadband.
Ignore these people, they haven't read your posts correctly.
Sky are working on making anytime dependant on whether you have HD subs or not, but it might be a few months till the kinks are worked out. For the moment, your stuck.

Apologies, I had misread. I thought I read that they were on Sky BB.
To clarify, Anytime+ is currently only available on Sky BB.

Re: sd anytime on hd box
To Clarify some more, Sky Anytime+ is only available to Sky LLU subscribers with the correctly updated receiver (not a Thompson)and not using Sky Connect.

Re: sd anytime on hd box
We had anytime and to certain degree we still have if you can include something we can't access due to the polite message asking us to ring and upgrade to a hd package. To add to my point the sales guy came round (we were thinking of ringing and ordering anyway) we harped on about how we loved anytime and his salesman reply was yes it's great blah blah blah, then said he would sort out us with a wonderful hd box free of charge...now surely he would no of these problems and advise us to get the other box when he knew had a sell anyway.
