You will get the Amstrad DRX 890, I asked the same question and was told if it comes in a box like the one below its new, if its a plain box its refurbished.
You only get 250GB for personal use the other 250GB is for anytime.

Er...grade A refurbs come in the white carton! Check the barcodes on the end of the carton. If there are 4 or 5 barcode stickers, it's a new machine, if there are 2 or less, it's a grade A.

Thanks for clarifying that, I asked the question in my post above here in the forum and the advice I posted above was the advice i was given.

I asked the installer if it was a refurbished box and he told me it was new and that they don't install refurbished boxes when it is a new install, i have checked the box and i have 4 stickers.

I am not having a new install, just a new box. The sky rep told me it would be a new one when I asked. Are they only installing amstrad boxes now.

      Re: latest new HD Boxes?

as far as a i am aware amstrad boxes are the only ones being used at the moment. They are all equipped for sky anytime + (providing you have sky BB) and they are 500GB. As previously mentioned 250GB for yourself and 250 reserved for anytime plus. If you are an exisitng customer you can check what has been ordered for you via your online account through MY SKY - TRACK MY ORDER or through the TV. INTERACTIVE BUTTON- MY SKY- TRACK MY ORDER. Hope this helps.

This is the first time i have heard this, I cannot imagine they would allow anytime plus to fill the whole hard drive if left unattended, it makes no sense.

Anytime+ will not fill your disk unattended. To get anything from A+ you have to download it over the internet on to your planner, or simply watch it when it is downloading. The ordinary Anytime programs are put on to the reserved part of your disk for instant viewing, not the Planner part.

      Re: latest new HD Boxes?

      Wrong but right.

New HD boxes are now being shipped with 2 bard codes attached, in a white box and will be in a box thats all written up as per above picture.

A Grades are in a white box marked up with unipart written on them and they are reconditioned boxes. These boxes are like new, they have had new insides and a new case but put in a plain box.

Nothing wrong with them and they work hust as good as new boxes.

Its just rumour control and you know what rumours are like.

If your a new customer it will be a new box.

      Regards
