Re: sky anytime plus help plz

Sky Anytime Plus is a free additional service, if you have Sky broadband, a Sky+HD box and the latest software you are ready for Sky Anytime plus.
Who ever told you it cost extra was lying.
To activate the service you have to visit the my sky website and upgrade.

If you have correctly connected an ethernet cable between your router and the Sky+HD box the relevant port light should be lit.

Re: sky anytime plus help plz

actually, there is an installation option for those who did not get all products at the same time, or if they are adding it on now.

      There is 3 options:

Assisted wired install where someone comes out and fits a network cable (cut to the appropriate length) between router and HD Box (40 if memory serves)
Self wired install where you get the cable yourself and call up simply to activate the service (free)
Self Wireless install where you are sent a wireless bridge in the shape of a mini-HD box, which you have to setup and configure yourself (60 for the bridge to be sent)

So, they weren't lying, just didn't give you the right type of engineer. Though, if i'm right in thinking, all Sky TV engineers are supposed to have been re-trained to fit the ethernet cable, and should have rolls of it in their van. Maybe that is only with directly employed engineers, and maybe you got an outsourcer

If you have not got a light on the port that is in use for the connection to the sky tv box then either the port is not working, the cable is no good or the port on the sky tv box is not working. Try another port and see if the light on the router comes on.

Re: sky anytime plus help plz

To get Anytime+ you must add it to your subscription. If you have not done this, go here How to get Sky Anytime+ - TV on demand - Sky VOD click the Sign in to activate button. Sign into your Sky account and you will be taken to the next page. Scroll down the Add more TV packages list and click the Get Anytime+ link. You will be told when your Anytime+ is activated.

Now go to your Sky box and press the Services button and go to Settings inthe top menu bar, press the Down arrow to get down to the secondary menu bar, scroll along to the Network Tab. If you are properly connected to the router, you should see that you have a Network address. If you don't, you are not properly connected to the router. Check that you are properly plugged into the Network port on the box, you should hear/feel a slight click as the plug engages in the socket.

If nothing was done by the installer that came out to you, then you will not be charged for the fitting and your money will be refunded.

When you go to the section for Add more packages do you see this?-

      • Sky Anytime+
      • You already have Sky Anytime+ in your portfolio.
