I have a samsung 973007 with epg 40.0.14.1. The website wouldn't have let me activate if it wasn't ready. How long did others take to switch on when they were activated online?

      Re: Samsung Boxes

I had the update on my Samsung box a few days ago. After seeing a post above I rechecked the Sky site and it let me 'activate' anytime plus.

I say activate, I'm wondering if I've signed up for another 12 months for something because the sign up process is exactly the same as buying another service ???

It was then a case of connecting it all up, rebooted the box and the new anytime came up.

Hi, was that a full software reset, backup and plug in? I tried that last night, maybe I did it too soon, I'll have another go and let you know if it works. Thanks

      Re: Samsung Boxes

Time from applying for the upgrade to the service running was the time it took me to walk downstatirs and turn the TV on.

From the help centre on the 25th Nov:-

Software version SYSF26.59.01 is now fully tested and ready for release to 1Tb (DRX895), 500Gb (DRX890), Samsung HD and Pace HD boxes. This software contains several fixes which have been linked to reported symptoms and we believe will remedy some of the problems our customers have been experiencing.

However, to avoid any conflict with live viewing of the Ashes cricket, we have deferred the download of software to customers over the air.

We will download this software over the air as soon as we can, rolling out rapidly but without risking impact to the Ashes. In the meantime we have made this software available on the foreground download (DR) stream, and we would encourage any customers suffering from problems who have the above set top box models to download this software using the following procedure:

      1. Switch off or unplug your Sky box at the mains.
      2. Press and hold the back up button on your box.
      3. While you keep the back up button pressed, restore the mains power.
      4. Wait until you see a message on your screen indicating that the software is being updated, then release the back up button.

The process will take around 10 minutes to complete, after which your Sky box will reboot. Now you can check that you have the correct version of the software:

      1. Press services on your Sky remote.
      2. Use the right arrow to higlight Settings.
      3. Use the down arrow to highlight Picture.
      4. Press the right arrow twice to see the System Details. The Model Number should read SYSF26.59.01

Although we expect improvements, we do not expect this software version to resolve all reported problems, and we continue to investigate and to build further fixes for future release. Please continue to share your experience with this new software on our forum.

The availability of Anytime + on Samsung was tweeted on the 30th Nov.

      @Penrhyn
Do you actually have the 26.59.01 firmware? Or do you have the 40.0.14.1 which I and some others have?
